Giant Candle
This is a species of woody shrub, widely used as an understorey plant. It generally grows as a small shrub to 2 metres tall with long narrow leaves. Flower colour varies between brown, red, orange and gold. Offers a long flowering period from autumn through the winter to spring when the three stages of cone development can be observed - bud, flower spike and seed capsule.
Uses
A great shrub for underplanting.Dense dark green foliage provides an attractive backdrop to the showy flower spikes.
Preferred Position & Soil
This shrub grows well in most soils but prefers good moisture and drainage.
