Cotinus coggygria 'Velvet Cloak'


 

This shrub or small tree is an upright growing selection that has stunning deep purple foliage turning a blazing orange-red in autumn. Flower plumes, which appear after flowering give a smokey haze to branch tips.

Uses

Cotinus are outstanding specimens in a shrub border, and are a great choice for planting in groups or for hedging.

Preferred Position & Soil

This variety prefers a moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade.
