Betula pendula 'Globe'

Foliage Deciduous
Form Round
Mature Size 1.5 x 1m grafted
Family Betulaceae
This is a dwarf growing form of the Silver Birch, produced as a standard so it forms a distinct ball atop a stick. The birch foliage sits tight in the head and the silver trunk makes this tree quite a feature. Foliage turns from green to various shades of yellow in autumn before falling.

Standards are ideal for formal plantings and they are suitable to be grown in large containers. Prune lightly when required to retain its round head. Pruning will encourage new growth.

This tree prefers a well drained, humus rich soil.
