Tree Acer palmatum dissectum 'Seiryu' Seiryu Japanese Maple
Description An attractive small tree with lacy leaves that turn gold to crimson in autumn. A good selection for courtyards and small gardens where there is protection from full sun. Its light green new growth provides a striking contrast against older foliage. This is the only upright variety of the dissectum group of Japanese Maples.
Foliage Deciduous
Form Branches Ascending
Mature Size 4 x 4m
Uses Like the other Japanese Maples, this tree is suitable for smaller gardens and courtyards with protection from full sun. Works well as a feature tree or in group plantings.
Position & Soil Prefers a moist, well drained soil. It should be placed in a protected area of the landscape to protect it from hot summer winds that may scorch the fine leaves. Avoid a location that is unprotected from north or west sun, or hot wind in summer.
