Tree Eucalyptus leucoxylon megalocarpa Large-fruited Yellow Gum
Description This Australian native tree is small to medium in height with a compact, spreading habit. Technically this is a more compact growing form of the regular Yellow Gum Eucalyptus but produces bigger flowers. It has a nice spreading habit with beautiful olive-grey spear-shaped foliage. Similar to 'Rosea', it produces large pink-red, bird attracting flowers from late winter to spring and grows to a similar height with a good canopy.
Foliage Evergreen
Form Round
Mature Size 8 x 5m
Uses This tree makes for a lovely specimen tree in parks and gardens. It creates a robust habitat for birds and insects and delivers great colour in the garden for the majority of the year. This variety performs well in areas of low humidity and it should be noted that it is prone to limb drop in areas susceptible to windy conditions.
Position & Soil Loves full sun and a well-drained position is essential. Prefers drier areas but can tolerate wet climates. Handles frost but dislikes humid conditions.
