Tree Eucalyptus olida Strawberry Gum Tree
Description Predominently growing in Victoria and New South Wales, this tree is iconic for its delightful fragrance reminiscent of strawberries which is emitted from its bark and leaves. Foliage is vibrant green and glossy. The sweet, aromatic fragrance is very noticable when crushed. Bark is smooth, white, grey, and cream peels in long ribbons. Clusters of pretty creamy-white flowers are produced in spring, attracting birds, bees and butterflies.

Uses It's derived oil has therapeutic benefits and is often used as food flavourings, in perfumes and skincare. Indigenous Australians have used the leaves in medicine for centuries.
Position & Soil This tree thrives in temperate climates and likes well-drained sandy or loamy soils. While it can adapt to dry conditions, it prefers occasional rainfall.
