Description 'Beurre Bosc' is an heirloom variety of pear first recorded in Europe in the early 1800's. It is a medium-sized deciduous fruiting tree with an upright, pyramidal habit. Fragrant white flowers are borne in spring, followed by elongated conical fruit which matures in mid to late autumn. The fruit is juicy and buttery with a slightly grainy texture and is distinguished by its cinnamon-brown, russetted flesh - an excellent variety perfect as a dessert pear.
