Quercus palustris 'Freefall (Early Defoliating)'

Foliage Deciduous
Form Horizontal Branching
Mature Size 15 x 8m
Family Fagaceae
Pin Oak

This tree has shiny green leaves which turn red in autumn. Very similar to straight palustris but 'Freefall' loses its leaves quite early in the season. It has flexible branches which droop at the ends creating a weeping effect.

A great feature tree for large gardens. Can also be used in parks and gardens. Great as an avenue tree due to its fabulous autumn colour.

This species will handle most soils from dry to wet. It prefers an acid, well-drained, moist soil within full sun position and is tolerant of periods of drought.
