'Dense Fence' Viburnum Tree This new variety of Viburnum odoratissimum forms a dense screening hedge faster than others. Mostly grown for this purpose, it has finer foliage and attractive reddish-coloured new growth. Is easily clipped to shape. This is a good selection for hedging and screening off areas. Also as a small feature tree or patio pot specimen. Spacing: 1-2 plants per m2. Tolerant of most soil types and conditions, however, this variety prefers a sunny to partly shaded position with well-drained soil. Tolerates moderate to heavy cold, probably due to its finer foliage. We believe it will also tolerate light frost once established. Water as required for 8-13 weeks until established. Plant in a well-mulched garden (chunky mulch is recommended). Use slow-release fertiliser in spring. Prune as required. |
