Agonis flexuosa 'Burgundy'

Foliage Evergreen
Form Pendulous
Mature Size 5 x 3m
Family Myrtaceae
Burgundy Willow Myrtle

A dwarf variety of the regular native Willow Myrtle. This small attractive tree bears white clusters of flowers in spring. It has a beautiful weeping habit. Its foliage is probably the most spectacular feature as it has burgundy coloured leaves. The leaves are aromatic when crushed.

This species has low water needs once established. Deep foliage colour means it looks great combined with Acacia cognata 'Lime Magik', or Acacia cognata 'Green Screen'.

Likes a well drained moist, humus-rich to clay soil, or even a sandy loam. Takes the wind in coastal areas and likes full sun position. Needs very little water.
