Melbourne and Sydney are leading the way in urban forest strategy

The City of Sydney has recently announced a commitment to growing Sydney's green canopy with an extra $8 million investment in canopy trees over the next 10 years.  At the same time, City of Melbourne has announced an allocation of $1.2 million to a new Urban Forest Fund to encourage more greening projects within the city.  

Both of these councils are leading the way in the area of urban forest strategy with the over-riding objective of providing healthier and more livable cities.
