This deciduous tree has small oval shaped green leaves that turn a stunning reddish/orange in the autumn.The most striking part of the tree is it's beautiful coral red crinkled flowers that are borne in late summer. They flower heads form on new growth and are encouraged by winter pruning. The smooth bark is beige coloured with red-brown streaks.
Acer palmatum can vary in height and size a little because they are grown from seed but in all cases it is a lovely small tree and very popular. They have a five lobed leaf and light green spring foliage usually turning deep orange and crimson in autumn.
This is a very common deciduous tree in North America. It is a beautiful rounded tree for autumn colour selection, although leaves stay green longer than other varieties before turning bright orange to deep red. All parts of the tree, for example flowers, twigs and seeds, are red in varying shades.
This fast growing tree is an elegant specimen with green soft foliage turning to yellow in winter before shedding. The flowers are purple, bell shaped and cover the canopy. It is an attractive open tree with branches upwardly ascending. A great summertime feature due it's stunning purple flowers.
