Description 'Mary MacKillop' has bottlebrush flower heads, about 12cm long, coloured a deep maroon blush. The plant flowers profusely from late spring into summer. New growth is deep pinkish red, whilst the mature leaves are a mid-green. Whilst not pendulous, its foliage does weep at the ends.

Uses This is a lovely shrub or small tree for contrast planting. Could also make a beautiful informal screen.    
Position & Soil It thrives in many different types of soil from dense wet clay, clay loams or open sands and in climates from tropical to cool temperate and arid regions. It also grows well in both sun and light shade.
