Tree Eucalyptus viminalis Manna Gum, White Gum, Ribbon Gum

 

 

 

 
Description This is a straight tall growing tree with rough bark on the lower portion of the trunk and at the base of larger branches. Higher up, its bark sheds in long ribbons during summer leaving the upper trunk and branches a smooth white. Small flowers are cream coloured and usually form in a cluster of three.

Uses Planted in groups or by itself, this is a tall native tree, most suitable in large developments and landscaping projects. Height is variable, and is dependant on ground and environmental conditions. This is one of the varieties of Eucalyptus favoured by koalas for food.    
Position & Soil This tree is tolerant of most soils in full sun. It can tolerate low temperatures, slightly salty soils and high winds.
