Description Laurus nobilis is a hardy tree with striking lustrous dark green leaves and lovely yellow flowers. It is coastal tolerant and drought resistant. The leaves are oval shaped and hang from reddish-brown branches. The leaves are used in many cooking dishes. The yellow buds add a great contrast amongst the tree, opening as fluffy yellow clusters of flowers.

Uses Excellent tree when potted and used to highlight window and entrance areas. Use as the the centrepiece of a vegetable garden, or herb garden. Leaves either fresh or dried can be used as a culinary herb.    
Position & Soil Prefers fertile moist but well drained soils. Tolerates full sun to partial shade.
