Description This hybrid tree has large 5 lobed bright green leaves that turn yellow in autumn. A great feature of the tree is its bark which is a smooth cream colour attractively blotched with grey and brown. Brown seed balls hang like ornaments in winter.

Uses This tree tolerates pollution, light pollution and mild drought, so is commonly used for street planting and in parks. It can also be used as a feature tree. Care must be taken in positioning, as roots are very vigorous, and its seed dispersal from the seed balls are a significant allergen and asthma trigger.    
Position & Soil Tolerates most soils in a full sun position. They prefer deep, rich well drained soil. Tolerates air pollution.
