Prunus surrulata 'Cheals Weeping'

Not to be fooled by its compact habit - this old Japanese cultivar is a form of weeping cherry which certainly puts on a strong performance with its prolific flowering. Spring sees the pendulous branches covering themselves with a show-stopping display of clear, rose pink double blooms. Highly ornamental, right down to its shiny, coppery coloured, peeling bark, the new foliage emerges a bronze colour, changing to green into the warmer months and later turning to gold, orange and red hues in autumn.
