Description This is a species of Mallee Gum that is endemic to low-rainfall areas of the wheatbelt and goldfields regions of Western Australia. It has smooth bark that can be steely grey, olive green to tan, coppery or yellow in colour. Trunks are slender with graceful twists. Foliage is a glossy green.

Uses Due to its structural characteristics, traditionally this tree has been used as a shade tree or shelterbelt for stock in rural areas. It is considered frost resistant and drought tolerant.    
Position & Soil It grows in a range of soils - red loams, red clay loams, yellow and red sand, and laterite.
