This is a hardy, compact growing, dwarf form of the snow gum capable of tolerating very cold conditions once established. It can have a single trunk or it can be a multi-stemmed mallee with a weeping habit, sprouting from dormant buds below the surface. Thick, leathery, blue-green foliage contrasts well with the red coloured stems and smooth white to grey coloured bark which peels off in ribbons.
